Terms & Conditions

• Original Driver's License from country of issue;

• Passport;

• Cost of Rental (Payable by Credit Card - VISA, American Express and Mastercard accepted or Cash with a deposit);

• Optional Extra Protection - EP;

• Local Driver's Permit;

• Other Additional Charges.

Hirer/Driver must be over 25 year of age and have been the holder of a driver's license for no less than 3 years. Persons over 65 years of age must supply a doctor's certificate.

A local permit is necessary if you do not have an international driver's license; this can be arranged by our representative at a rate of US$21. Please note that your original driver's permit from your country of issue must be presented at the time of the rental.

• Optional Extra Protection (E.P.) is available and recommended at US$15.00 per day. E.P. is not Insurance and is Non-Refundable. It reduces your full liability in the event of a collision/loss.

• If E.P. is accepted, responsibility for damages is partially reduced to US$1,500.00 providing the vehicle is operated in accordance with all conditions of our contract. E.P. does not cover damage to tyres/rims/vehicle canvas tops, cigarette burns to upholstery or traffic violations. A Pre-Authorization is a one time transaction that will be placed on your credit card for a minimum amount of US$500.00 at the start of the rental period. Please note that the release time varies depending on your issuing financial institution. 

• If E.P. is declined, the Renter is responsible for any and all damage up to the full value of the vehicle due to loss or  damage caused by accident, fire or theft, regardless of who is at fault. A Pre-Authorization is a one time transaction that will be placed on your credit card for a minimum amount of US$1,200.00 at the start of the rental period. Please note that the release time varies depending on your issuing financial institution.

• Some credit card companies offer car insurance to their clients. In some cases, this insurance may not apply to car rentals outside the home country. It is therefore the renter’s responsibility to confirm his/her coverage. Clients are advised that in the event of an accident all repairs must be settled locally, however, FRAM Island Car Rental will furnish provide copies of  the bills, which can be used to file a claim with your insurance agency back home.

• In the event of an accident or theft, the Renter is advised to immediately report the incident to FRAM Island Car Rental and the local police. The renter should complete a report within 24 hours of occurrence.

Delivery is free of charge to guests' locations in the north of the island (Gros Islet - Castries).

If the Renter returns the vehicle with less fuel than rented, a minimum refueling charge of US$40 will apply.

Also an additional fee of US$60 will apply if the vehicle is returned to any other location than previously agreed.

The above are additional charges that may be added to your bill.

 Any rental cancellation must be done 48 hours prior to confirmed rental date or a fee will apply. A minimum one day rental fee on the vehicle category booked will apply.
